In her artwork "Icon," Viktoria Strecker taps into primal forces within an earthly dreamscape that defies temporal perception. Employing a technique of applying multiple layers of oil pigments on photopaper, Strecker utilizes a scalpel to delicately remove dried pigment, revealing a landscape of winter palettes and warm, earthy hues emanating from its core. Gentle boulders rise like ancient sentinels, forming Icons, within Strecker's terrestrial tapestry of peat moss, stone, and clay, each guarding against the raw power of the earth's wilderness. Rippling with elements of earth and fire, Strecker's depiction of nature is a sanctuary where time stands still--a terrestrial reserve of pure enduring elements, where the tangible and intangible converge.
We've reimagined Icon using the timeless combination of hand, needle, and thread, bathed in bronze metallic, warm camel, and deep earth hues. The winter earth palette seamlessly blends, forming a gentle, textured landscape that beckons with warmth and invites exploration, reminiscent of moss-laden paths and smooth pebbles.
Our skilled artisans, the cornerstone of this heritage craft, leave no detail unnoticed. Each piece is a labor of love, meticulously hand-embroidered over countless hours and adorned with carefully chosen tigereye stones, which appear both powerful and well-grounded in the artwork. This precious embroidery is nestled in a bed of luxuriously soft cashmere, crafted in small batches in Scotland, elements of its natural landscape reminscent of Icon itself. Each stitch, each stone, and every thread woven into the fabric represents a dedication to beauty, craftsmanship, and the harmonious blend of nature's elements.
